Mlungisi Gumede aka M.G aka The Real MfanakaGogo, a well established name in the KZN hip-hop scene will be throwing a Hip-hop event in his home ground Hammarsdale April 15 2022 featuring a number of well known performers on the line up. Rap Good Friday will be held at Mazororo Village, Hammarsdale Unit 4 & features the likes of Bravo on Deck, E, Mshizzi, Merel, Dat Boi Mreppa, Msitwa a and Boxis just to name a few.

One has to admit that the Lyrical Session Movement has been a very solid and consinstant platform for battle rappers in Durban and around KZN. LSM has managed to stay relevant throughout the years and has built notable names in the culture. They are starting this year strong with their marquee event The Jump Off on the 26th Feb 2022 where there’s huge a possibility to witness a lyrical homicide in person. The Beach EP is the debut EP release from Morgan Mafu, released on 07 June 2014 on Independent record production company Nu Age Muzik. Production for the EP began in April 2013 at Iron & Concrete Studios.

The EP’s title track The Beach is inclusive of a Sade sample from “Shadows” and consists of heavy vocoder pop elements. On “Rock The Boat” the record begins with a Pink Floyd sample of “Have A Cigar” which ,just like the former, consists of heavy autotuning and tribal chants.

The rest of the EP, is considered to be blunt [Summer Is A Bitch] and is rebellious to the youth of the millennium, with a protest song like “Survive”, which is widely embraced by the poetry society.

For those not in the know Scrambles 4 money is an independent south african hip hop battle circuit, established with the
aim of putting South African battle elements on a world stage. Bi-monthly events are hosted at Grayscale Gallery, with each event featuring battles with visiting national guest artists. The focus of the S4M league is to bring various styles and skill levels from all around the country to battle it out for the ultimate prize of bragging rights and the cash takings.

Talk is Cheap 2 is the event to be at this easter, witness the best rap battle emcee’s S.A has, versus some of the Best International acts too. This is the main event to be at, Trust me.
